When my dear wife and I met with Father Sam the other day, among the things we left with were some pictures from his files of various times in his life. I have scanned them into my computer, and will be rolling them out from time to time, so that you can see the man himself or things that mattered to him.
In this gray scan of a photocopy of a picture from about 70 years ago is the spark of the vocation that Father Sam eventually lived out fully. The tall lad in the back row with their parish priest is Father Sam. The Church in the background is St. Michael's Parish Ridgetown, the parish from which Father Sam retired a few years back, and where he makes his home . . . when he is not jetting off to Columbia or Medjugorge.
