A First Prayer Meeting
The other evening, Thursday April 29, 2010 to be exact, I accompanied my friend Wayne Zimmer to St. Michael's Parish in Ridgetown Ontario, for the first of what is hoped will be many prayer meetings at the Parish. In a vibrant parish like St. Michael's there is much going on and so the prayer meeting conflicted with the Parish Council meeting. Consequently some who would have attended were otherwise engaged.
The next meeting with be Monday May 17, 2010 for any who are interested.
Those who were there gathered to praise and worship Our Saviour. There was a prophecy read and one given through Wayne as well. Father Sam Johnston, of course, was present.
He told us that, although he has been diagnosed with colon cancer, he is not the least bit concerned, as he has been the beneficiary of prayers from many places in the world, and plans to ask for another colonoscopy before he lets anyone cut into him. That's Father Sam, for you.
There is a move of God's Holy Spirit present in the parish, and it will be interesting to see it develop further.
